The Kosmic / Vortex machines have generally been the most competitive in the qualification phase of the European KF Championship at Ortona with Nicklas Nielsen the leader of the intermediate classification, Andrea Russo in third position and Armand Convers, with two wins but also a retirement which relegated him to 10th place. Despite some ups and downs, Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) hasn’t given up with his beautiful 2nd place. We think that the final battle could be between Nielsen and Verstappen. Martin Kodric (FA Kart / Vortex) was particularly rapid and consistent which gives him fourth position ahead of Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex).
Also very fast, but a little bumpy, Callum Ilott (Zanardi / TM) is in sixth position ahead of Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / BMB), who is making the most of his equipment to come back from 19th in qualifying to seventh position, followed by teammate Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla). Second in the championship, Christian Sorensen (Tony Kart / Vortex) has not yet managed a performance one would expect of a title contender with his 9th position. Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM), only 11th, has alternated good and less good races, encountering some problems in contact with the dust. Ben Barnicoat (ART GP / TM) is in 13th position, George Russell (Birel / TM) 23rd and Niclas Nylund (Kosmic / Vortex) 42nd.
